Students in this program will be allowed to explore various listening skills, social skills, and pragmatic language. All while building strong relationships with their peers through play. These skills are taught in an enjoyable way! CONNECTIONS uses games and improvised scenarios that help individuals explore together and laugh with each other as a teaching technique.

Kids & Teens Programs

Unscripted Learning offers several programs for kids and teens ranging from ages 9-18.

NCT High School League

The National Comedy Theatre High School League gives High School students in San Diego a unique opportunity to learn improv skills and theory, and how to put them into practice with regular performances.

NCT has been in San Diego for over 20 years and is San Diego’s longest-running show with over 5,000 performances to date. The NCT High School League program uses improv to teach High School students sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership in addition to performance skills. Students are provided with a forum for students to have fun in a supportive wholesome environment. In this environment students are able to expand upon their creativity.

Students receive classes through workshops at the NCT performance space in Mission Hills (near Old Town) as well as classes on their school campus. NCT High School League is led with minimal supervision from a faculty advisor, and in coordination with coaches. Students are also able to choose captains to lead the team, arrange performances with other schools and organize regular practices.

Performances begin in January, with an organized schedule that notates which teams play others in the league. At the end of the school year, a multi-school tournament is held to showcase the talents of the students.

Every performance of the NCT High School League acts as a fundraiser for the school’s theatre department! It’s a great opportunity to have fun while raising money for a good cause.

The performance schedule varies month to month. Sign up for Unscripted Learning’s newsletter to stay up to date with the latest information.
